Join us this Saturday, September 14, for another collaboration between baker Matt Jones and pastry chef Mary Denham!
Matt Jones focuses on baking naturally leavened rustic loafs with an emphasis on nutrition through the use of whole grains and long fermentation. Over the last 7 years of baking in the bay area, he has worked at Tartine and is currently the head baker at Outerlands. Earlier this year, Matt created Avast Bakeshop to expand the selections of breads he can offer to the local community.
Mary Denham is a Bay Area pastry chef who has led the pastry programs at San Anselmo's M.H. Bread and Butter and at Outerlands in San Francisco. She started her business M. Denham Baking Co. last year, making custom cakes and desserts and offering up her whole-grain, seasonally-inspired cakes, pies, cookies, and more at popups throughout the Bay Area.
After working together at Outerlands and really missing it, the pair so enjoys the opportunity to bake together again for these collaborative popups, particularly for a community of whole-grain-loving, appreciative customers like those at ponsford’s place!
